WNBA Draft: Atlanta Trades Kelly Miller and Ta'Shia Phillips To Washington For All Star Lindsey Harding

That Atlanta Dream announce a draft day trade that saw them send No. 8 overall selection Ta'Shia Phillips and guard Kelly Miller to the Washington Mystics in exchange for 2010 All Star point guard Lindsey Harding. Washington will also receive the Dream's first round pick in 2012 in the trade.

Harding helped lead Washington to the best record in the Eastern Conference last season while averaging 12.1 points, four assists, and three rebounds per game. She started every game for the Mystics over the past two seasons.

"Lindsey is a proven point guard and leader on the court," said Head Coach & General Manager Marynell Meadors.  "Her ability to push the tempo and be an offensive threat fits our style and will compliment what we already have.  We are excited to add a player of her caliber to our team."

Harding was originally selected as the first overall pick in the 2007 draft by Phoenix but was traded in a draft day deal to the Minnesota Lynx. She was traded again in 2009 to Washington. She played her collegiate ball at Duke where she was a two-time AC Defensive Player of the Year.

In addition to trading Ta'shia Phillips, the Dream traded one of their key members to their run through the playoffs last season on their way to the WNBA finals in former Georgia Bulldog Kelly Miller.

"Kelly Miller was tremendous in her role for us and integral to our success," said Dream General Manager and Head Coach Marynell Meadors.  "We are grateful for her contributions and wish her success in Washington."
