What does it say about a basketball team that's about to go into a tough playoff matchup with a team that killed them last season that looks like it can care less whether it goes into the postseason with a six-game losing streak?
Yep, folks, the Atlanta Hawks are once again not playing defense and taking terrible shots. It comes as no surprise that they're getting destroyed by the Charlotte Bobcats.
Gerald Henderson has 10 points and DJ Augustin and Dante Cunningham posted eight each to stake the Bobcats to a 29-18 lead over the Hawks through one quarter at the Time Warner Cable Arena.
Josh Smith netted four points and Marvin Williams and Josh Powell added three each for Atlanta, which is shooting 42-percent (8-for-19) through the first 12 minutes of the basketball game.
The Hawks once again look dreadful on defense, allowing the Bobcats to connect at a 65-percent (13-for-20) clip in the first quarter. They also have six turnovers and are losing the battle of the boards 10-7.
One can only hope that this sleepwalk to the playoffs stops soon or Atlanta could be in for a short series against the Orlando Magic.
