Stuff, the Orlando Magic's mascot, used the Magic's 101-76 win against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night as an opportunity to have some fun at Hawks guard Jeff Teague's expense. Via Twitter, of course, because what sort of self-respecting fuzzy dragon doesn't connect via social media?
Here's what Stuff said in separate tweets about Atlanta's seldom-used backup point guard, who's played just nine minutes in this series:
Jeff Teague led Hawks on court last night yellin to me "It's Over!" I reminded him not bc of him... he officially scored as many pts as me
But Stuff couldn't help himself. He just had to fire away at Teague one last time:
I let Jeff Teague kno that he had no part in any victory. His response: "I do the same thing as you. I just get paid a lot more." True story
If Teague really did say that to Stuff, then good on him for playing nice. If not, well, a masot fibbed, and it's not really news.
Teague and the Hawks may yet have the last laugh, though. They still lead the series, 3-2, and host Game 6 this Thursday night. And as research from SB Nation's Mike Prada shows, teams holding a 3-1 series lead who lose Game 5 by more than 10 points tend to win Game 6 handily.
