The Atlanta Dream came out early and looked to establish themselves inside offensively looking for Erika De Souza and Sancho Lyttle early. Foul trouble slowed that game plan down some but Atlanta looks a lot more like the team we expected to see leading the Silver Stars 35-28 at the half.
Angel McCoughtry got the start for Atlanta and scored six points in the opening quarter. She was held scoreless in the second and is now just 3-11 from the field. De Souza, Alison Bales, and Coco Miller also have six points for Atlanta. San Antonio's Danielle Adams leads all scorers with 13 points.
Atlanta has a huge 27-12 rebounding advantage including 10-1 in offensive rebounds. That has played a major role in the Dream having attempted 10 more shots from the floor than the Silver Stars in the first half. Neither team is having much success from outside. Atlanta is 0-6 on three point attempts while San Antonio is 1-10.
Atlanta has held leads in each of their first two games only to see them slip away in the second half. With McCoughtry back, it is important that they find some chemistry offensively and trust in their system to provide them with some good looks at the basket.
