The Atlanta Dream used a balanced offensive attack combined with some tight defense to take down the Eastern Conference leading Indiana Fever 84-74 at Philips Arena. Atlanta wins their second game in a row and moves them to within 1.5 games of the Chicago Sky for the last playoff spot in the East.
Lindsey Harding picked up the slack for an Atlanta team that used a balance attack to turn back the Fever. Harding finished with 19 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Angel McCoughtry spent most of the afternoon saddled by foul trouble but still contributed 15 points to go along with five steals. Erika de Souza logged a double double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
All-Star forward Tamika Catchings scored a game-high 22 points while Erin Phillips added 21. Jessica Davenport rounded out Indiana's players in double figures with 12.
This win is easily Atlanta's most impressive this season and have the opportunity to end the first half on a high note with a victory in Washington tomorrow.
