A wildly entertaining first half to the WNBA All-Star game is in the books with the West All-Stars on top of the East by a score of 66-65. The action on the floor has been fast and furious with a barrage of three-point baskets keeping the Eastern Conference within striking distance.
Swin Cash leads all scorers in the game with 14 points. Rookie Liz Cambage has 13 and Diana Taurasi added 11. Cash is also leading the West in rebounding with seven boards in the early going.
Essence Carson leads the Eastern Conference with 11 points while both Tina Charles and Cappie Pondexter each have nine. Atlanta Dream forward Angel McCoughtry finished with six points and a team high seven rebounds in the first half.
The East has been able to keep the game close with a flurry of three pointers going 12-21 in the first half. Carson made all three of her attempts in the first half.
Thus far the game has been an outstanding and entertaining exhibition of the game. With the WNBA celebrating its 15 year anniversary this game signifies a changing of the guard as 10 players playing in today's game are making their first appearance.
