Sparks Vs. Dream Final Score: Angel McCoughtry Leads Atlanta To Fifth Straight Win

The Atlanta Dream extended their season best winning streak to five games with an 89-80 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks. Angel McCoughtry was in All-Star form stuffing the stat sheet with 22 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists. The game also marked the return to action of Atlanta forward Sancho Lyttle who had been sidelined with a back injury giving the Dream their full compliment of players for just the third time this season.

The Dream rebounded from a slow first quarter to lead 45-41 at the half. After a poor shooting third quarter, Atlanta responded with their best quarter of the night in the fourth. Armintie Price provided a spark all over the court finishing with 14 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Iziane Castro Marques turned in one of her best performances of the season finishing with 13 points on 6-11 shooting off the bench. Lindsey Harding added 10 points and six rebounds for the Dream.

Ebony Hoffman led the way for the Sparks with 16 points and eight rebounds. Kristi Tolliver added 15 points and Jenna O'Hea added a career high 14 points.

Sancho Lyttle made her first appearance on the court for the Dream since the middle of June midway through the second quarter. She ended up playing 14 minutes finishing with seven points, five boards, and three assists.

With the win, Atlanta is now 8-9 on the season and at least temporarily find themselves inching closer to the .500 mark and more importantly into the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
