The Atlanta Dream are set to begin their defense of their 2010 Eastern Conference Championship on Friday Sept 16 in Connecticut against the Sun. Atlanta clinched the No. 3 seed in the East on Sunday with a 93-88 victory over Indiana. Atlanta set a franchise record with their 20th win of the season successfully overcoming a 3-9 start.
Atlanta split the regular season series against Connecticut 2-2 with both teams winning on their home court. If Atlanta is going to advance, then they are going to have to find a way to capture a win in Connecticut. The Dream were 11-6 at home and 9-8 on the road during the regular season. The series will match up two All-Stars in Atlanta's Angel McCoughtry and Connecticut's Tina Charles.
Friday night's game in Connecticut will tip at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on NBA TV. The series shifts to Atlanta for Game 2 on Sunday, September 18 with a 3 p.m. start time. Game 2 will be televised on ESPN2. The series will conclude on Tuesday, September 20 back in Connecticut if necessary.
