Now that it has been made clear that Atlanta Hawks center Al Horford could be out for the next three to four months with a torn pectoral muscle suffered in the Hawks' Wednesday night loss to the Pacers on the road, the team is trying to figure out if they will make any moves to find a new center until Horford comes back.

Gearon said he hadn’t yet spoken to GM Rick Sund and wasn’t sure what moves the Hawks might make in the wake of Horford’s injury. In addition to Horford, Atlanta’s centers include Zaza Pachulia and Jason Collins.
Pachulia has averaged 5.3 points per game this season and Collins has averaged 3.9 points per game in his career (0.5 this season). Both fall short of Horford's 12.4 points per game. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Hawks' current payroll is slightly above the luxury-tax threshold of $70 million, so they may release somebody if they try to find a replacement for Horford.
