The Atlanta Hawks begin a stretch of five games is six nights with Monday's matchup in Miami against the Heat. The Hawks will play both the Heat and the Bulls twice each over the next six days and the team is looking to use the opportunity as a measuring stick.
"I think it's a good measuring stick for us," Hawks forward Josh Smith said. "Even though the schedule is not the way we want it to be, I think it's good for this team to see how we play when we hit adversity."
Atlanta didn't handle adversity real well in their first opportunity when they completed a four games in five night stretch with a 95-84 loss in Houston Saturday night. The Hawks looked tired for most of the night and fell behind early. They can't afford a slow start against Miami who buried the Bobcats early and cruised to a 129-90 win on Sunday.
"They are the two best teams in the East, so we will see where are at," Hawks guard Jeff Teague said. "I know one thing: We are going to have to step it up."
