Hawks Vs. Heat Score: Atlanta Weathers Storm, Trails Miami 23-19

Despite a hot start by the Miami Heat, the Atlanta Hawks were able to weather the storm and end the first quarter trailing 23-19. Atlanta overcame 50 percent shooting by the Heat and closed the quarter with a 9-3 run to get back to within striking distance.

After being a non-factor in Saturday's loss to the Houston Rockets, Jeff Teague carried the Atlanta offense in the first quarter scoring nine points on 4-5 shooting. No other Hawks player has more than two points.

LeBron James scored eight points in the opening quarter followed by six for Chris Bosh and four for Dwyane Wade. Atlanta has been reasonably successful at slowing the game down and that has enabled the Hawks to keep things close.
