Kirk Hinrich Injury: Hawks Guard Makes Season Debut Against Spurs

Atlanta Hawks guard Kirk Hinrich made his return to the Hawks lineup Wednesday night when he checked in late in the first quarter replacing Jeff Teague. Hinrich missed the first 18 games of the season after having off season surgery to his left shoulder. His return is expected to give the Hawks an added boost off the bench at both the point guard and shooting guard positions.

Before the game, Hawks coach Larry Drew indicated that the team would bring Hinrich along slowly. Hinrich logged just over 13 minutes in his first game scoring seven points on 3-4 shooting. He hit his only three-point attempt and was credited with one steal and two turnovers in the Hawks 105-83 loss to the Spurs.

Hinrich replaced Jannero Pargo in the rotation for the Hawks. Pargo ended up playing the final 5:33 of the game after Drew had emptied his bench with San Antonio leading big.
