The Atlanta Hawks will wrap up a three games in three days stretch Saturday night against the Chicago Bulls at Philips Arena. The game will also be Atlanta's ninth in 12 days to start the season. To complicate things even more, the Hawks last two games have gone into overtime and Thursday's game required three additional periods.
That means that the Hawks could have some weary legs Saturday night when they take on a Bulls team that has won six straight games after defeating the Orlando Magic last night. Atlanta has extra motivation for tonight after the Hawks blew a 19 point lead Tuesday night against the Bulls falling 76-74 at the United Center.
"We were right there with them," Atlanta center Al Horford said. "We dominated for most of the game. Just Derrick Rose happened."
Atlanta successfully bounced back from a disappointing home loss to a shorthanded Miami Heat team on Thursday by defeating the Charlotte Bobcats 102-96 in overtime. last night. Josh Smith produced his best game of the season last night finishing with 23 points and 13 rebounds for Atlanta. The Hawks will need more of that effort tonight if they are to take down one of the Eastern Conference's best in the Bulls.
Tip off from Philips Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m. and can be televised by SportSouth.
