There was no sign of dead legs from the Atlanta Hawks in the first quarter as they jumped out to a 33-18 lead over the Chicago Bulls. The Hawks shot a blistering 58 percent in the first quarter and hit four of its five three-point attempts.
Josh Smith picked right up where he left off last night in Charlotte scoring nine points and seemed to energize his Atlanta teammates. Atlanta also finished with 10 assists and five steals in the first quarter.
Chicago came out struggling offensively and was bothered by the Hawks defense at the rim. Carlos Boozer and Luol Deng score four points each while reigning MVP Derrick Rose finished with two after hitting just one of his three shot attempts.
