Hawks Vs. Nets Score: Josh Smith's 14 Points Lifts Atlanta To 56-45 Halftime Lead

Josh Smith picked back up right where he left off on Tuesday scoring 14 first half points to help the Atlanta Hawks to a 56-45 lead over the New Jersey Nets at halftime.

Atlanta cooled off somewhat in the second quarter but still finished the half shooting just a tick under 56 percent. Atlanta hit half of its three-point attempts (6-12) and piled up 18 assists on 24 made baskets.

Smith hit 6-8 field goals for his 14 points and also grabbed a team-high five rebounds in the first half. Al Horford hit 5-8 shots for 10 points, four boards and three assists. Joe Johnson scored eight points and handed out five assists while Jeff Teague has eight points and a couple of steals.

Anthony Morrow scored nine points in the half to lead the Nets while Kris Humphries chipped in seven points. Deron Williams finished the half with six points, five assists and two turnovers. Williams went just 2-7 from the field in the first half against the Atlanta defense.
