Former Georgia Tech standout and South Atlanta High product Derrick Favors makes his return to the city of Atlanta Sunday evening when the Hawks take on the Utah Jazz.
As a 20 year old in his second season with the Utah Jazz, Favors is averaging 8.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game off the bench for the Jazz in about 20 minutes of playing time each night. He is stuck backing up Paul Milsap and Al Jefferson in the Utah frontcourt.
In case you have forgotten, after being drafted by the New Jersey Nets with the third pick in the 2010 NBA Draft Favors was the key piece in the trade that brought former Utah point guard Deron Williams to the New Jersey.
Favors hasn't had much luck against the Hawks averaging 4.7 points and 4.7 rebounds in three career games. During his only season at Georgia Tech, Favors averaged 12.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game as a freshman.
