Knicks Vs. Hawks: Larry Drew May Be Immune To Woodsanity

Mike Woodson wasn't happy when the Hawks decided not to retain him following the 2010 season but he was even less happy it seems when Larry Drew was named as his successor. According to a report by Hawks beat writer Michael Cunningham, Woodson and Drew aren't on speaking terms and haven't talked since Woodson left the team.

That adds another storyline to Woodson's return to Atlanta for the first time as the head coach of the New York Knicks. Woody admits that he has softened his stance some in regards to how he feels about the Hawks organization but was rather blunt when the subject of Drew came up.

"We haven't talked," Woodson said. "I just want to talk about basketball. Let's keep it that way."

The story goes that Woodson thinks that Drew was secretly making his case for the Hawks coaching job while Woodson was still employed with the team. There is no evidence to whether that is just after the fact paranoia on Woodson's part or if any of that story is true.

The story does however pump a little more life into what would be a rather normal late regular season game with the Knicks.
