After one first half of play the Atlanta Hawks offense is rolling against the New York Knicks and are leading 52-40 at the half. The Hawks have a comfortable 12 point lead and were able to pull away by having runs of 6-0 and 7-0 late in the first and early second quarter to be ahead.
Josh Smith is leading the three Hawks players in double digits with 17 points, the other two are Joe Johnson who has 12 points and Marvin Williams came off the bench to have 11 first half points. As a team the Hawks are shooting 54 percent from the field.
On the Knicks side of things Carmelo Anthony is leading all scorers with 19 points, but he has been all of the offense for the Knicks as they are shooting only 40 percent for the game.
