Hawks Vs. Pacers Score: Josh Smith Leads Atlanta To 58-54 Halftime Lead

Josh Smith scored 16 points to help lift the Atlanta Hawks to a 58-54 lead over the Indiana Pacers at halftime. Atlanta built as much as a 16 point lead before a late charge by the Pacers closed the gap.

Josh Smith picked right back up where he left off against the Thunder on Saturday. Smith scored 13 of his 16 in the first quarter and also added five rebounds and two assists. Ivan Johnson came off the bench to score nine points and grab four boards while Jeff Teague and Marvin Williams have seven each. Teagues dished out a team high six assists in the first half.

David West kept the Pacers in the game with 14 points in the first half. Danny Granger added 11 and Paul George eight.

Both teams were red hot in the first half hitting more than half of their shots but Atlanta built a 24-16 rebounding advantage. Indiana was able to stay in the game by getting to the free throw line where they were 17-24. Atlanta only managed to go 9-14 in the first half.
