Al Horford Injury Update: Hawks C/PF Out For Regular Season

The Atlanta Hawks desperately need two-time All-Star Al Horford to return. Unfortunately, the latest news makes it seem unlikely that they will see him again this season.

Michael Cunningham at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that coach Larry Drew has officially ruled out Horford returning before the regular season comes to an end. If the Hawks want to see Horford in the postseason, they will have to make it there on their own.

"What I've been told he's definitely out for the regular season and there is a possibility [of return] for the playoffs." Al has said he should know more about his timetable when he returns to see his doctor next week.

This likely means that the Hawks will be seeking any help they can get via a trade before the deadline arrives. Horford has been out since January 11 with a pectoral injury.
