The Eastern Conference playoff race is extremely tight between the No. 3 seed and the No. 6 seed where the difference is only 1.5 games. Out of that group it is the Hawks who are sitting at No. 6. With the playoffs on the horizon at the end of the month all of the remaining games are key.

Eastern Standings

GP W-L PCT
1. Chicago Bulls 54 42-12 .778
2. Miami Heat 51 37-14 .725
3. Orlando Magic 53 32-21 .604
4. Boston Celtics 51 30-22 .577
5. Indiana Pacers 51 30-21 .588
6. Atlanta Hawks 54 31-23 .574
7. Philadelphia 76ers 52 29-23 .558
8. New York Knicks 53 27-26 .509

The Hawks are not going to win the Southeast division as the Heat are 7.5 games ahead and basically have the division wrapped up, so the next best thing would be to get home court advantage for the first round of the playoffs and possibly earn a No. 3 seed.
