Ivan Johnson Sent Home By Hawks For 'Conduct Detrimental To Team"

The Atlanta Hawks have sent home forward Ivan Johnson for an undisclosed issue, per their official PR account:

The #Hawks have sent F Ivan Johnson back to Atlanta for conduct detrimental to team. He will re-join the squad on Saturday as the team prepares for a Sunday game against Toronto.

Details have not yet emerged as to the specific reason for Johnson temporarily leaving the team, although given that he's scheduled to rejoin the club Saturday, chances are it's not a potentially threatening legal matter. The 225lb, 6-foot-8 Johnson is in his rookie season out of Cal-State San Bernardino, averaging 5.8 points and 3.7 rebounds a game this year.

Johnson has a history of discipline issues, having been banned from the Korean Basketball League after making an obscene gesture at an official. That followed washout stints in the NBA's development league. Johnson left the University of Oregon after fighting with head coach Ernie Kent, and spent one year at Cal-State SB.
