The Hawks moved one step closer to home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs with a 109-102 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night in Atlanta.
The Hawks and Boston Celtics will face each other in the first round, but who gets home-court has yet to be determined. If the Celtics lose Tuesday night, the Hawks will clinch home-court advantage in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The Celtics have clinched the No. 4 seed because they won the Atlantic division.
Joe Johnson led Atlanta with 28 points on 10-for-17 shooting, including 6-for-9 from three-point range. Jeff Teague had 21 points and Marvin Williams had 18. Atlanta led by two at halftime, but used an 11-point edge in the third quarter to pull away.
While Blake Griffin and Chris Paul scored 36 and 34 points, respectively, no other Clippers player scored in double-figures.
