According to a report by the New York Times' Howard Beck, the Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics will begin their first-round playoff series on Sunday.
Sunday games will be Bos-Atl, Utah-SA, LAC-Mem and TBD-vs-Lakers. Saturday: TBD-vs-Chi, TBD-vs-Mia, TBD-vs-OKC, Orl-Ind.— Howard Beck (@HowardBeckNYT) April 26, 2012
The location for Game 1 won't be known until after tonight's games. Atlanta can nail down home court advantage in the first-round of the playoffs with a win over the Dallas Mavericks or a Boston loss to Milwaukee. The Celtics are guaranteed to slide no lower than the fourth seed due to their winning the Atlantic Division but home court is determined by the better record. Atlanta enters play tonight with a one game lead over Boston. The Celtics however hold all of the tiebreakers.
