Mavericks Vs. Hawks: Jason Kidd Sitting Out Tonight's Game In Atlanta

The Dallas Mavericks will rest Jason Kidd tonight in their regular season finale matchup with the Atlanta Hawks. The Mavericks are expected to have all of their remaining players in uniform and available tonight but will be monitoring minutes closely according to coach Rick Carlisle.

"We have a plan for tonight and we'll execute that plan," Carlisle said.

Dallas' playoff position is not guaranteed as of yet but the Mavericks need help from the Minnesota Timberwolves if they are to move into the sixth spot on the last day of the season. The Mavericks need to defeat the Hawks tonight and have the Timberwolves knock off Denver to secure the sixth seed and avoid Oklahoma City in the first round.

The day off for Kidd means that the veteran point guard will have seven full days of rest before the Mavericks open play in the playoffs.
