The Atlanta Hawks are coming off a much needed three-day break and will open a much more favorable stretch of their schedule Wednesday night against the Charlotte Bobcats. This is the first of two meetings with the Bobcats for the Hawks this week as they will visit Charlotte on Saturday.
It could be the most important stretch of the season for Atlanta who has battled injuries throughout. Atlanta enters play tonight trailing fifth-place Orlando by one game and third place Indiana by a game and a half. Eight of Atlanta's 12 remaining games are at home and six are against teams with sub .500 records.
Charlotte by far has the worst record in the NBA at 7-44 and has lost eight straight games.
