NBA Power Rankings 2012: Hawks' Wins Over Bottomfeeders Move Them Up To No. 9

The Hawks had a three-game winning streak last week, but although the wins came against some of the worst teams in the NBA in Detroit and Charlotte, Atlanta moved up three spots to No. 9 in the NBA Power Rankings by SB Nation's Tom Ziller.

Again, when you play the Pistons and Bobcats, you're expected to win, which is why Ziller didn't have much to say about the Hawks:

How to preserve win streaks in one easy step: get into the same division as the Bobcats.

The Hawks broke 100 points in all three games during the week, including scoring 120 points against the Bobcats on April 4. The Hawks currently sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference. Six of their final nine games are against teams currently in the playoffs, but the bottom of the East is so weak that it really would be a shock to see the Hawks miss the playoffs.
