With the NBA Draft Lottery set to take place on Wednesday night the full draft order for the 2012 NBA Draft will be set soon. DraftExpress released its final pre-lottery mock and projects Washington combo guard Tony Wroten to the Atlanta Hawks.
The thinking behind the pick is that Wroten would step into Kirk Hinrich's vacated spot. At 6-foot-5 he could seemingly defend both guard spots but he lacks perimeter shooting and isn't anywhere close to Hinrich in that regard. The upside is there however and it makes Wroten an intriguing prospect for this draft. He averaged 16 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists as a freshman at Washington.
If the Hawks decided to go big with their first round selection, Syracuse big man Fab Melo and Vanderbilt center Festus Ezeli are projected to still be on the board according to DraftExpress. They have Melo lasting until the 28th pick and Ezili going as the second pick of the second round or 32nd overall.
