The Atlanta Hawks are still in the no-man's land of being too good for high draft picks but not good enough to enter into the elite in the NBA. With the NBA Draft coming up, they will once again be looking to add talent to an already talented roster that is trying desperately to finally take that next step.
As of now, HoopsWorld has the Hawks using the no. 23 overall pick in the first round of the NBA Draft on either Andrew Nicholson or Marquis Teague with Joel Brigham and Steve Kyler agreeing on Nicholson and Yannis Koutroupis and Alex Raskin agreeing on Teague. ESPN's Chad Ford has the Hawks taking St. John's forward Moe Harkless in his latest mock draft.
Nicholson is a power forward with good size that is somewhat of a sleeper in the draft coming out of St. Bonaventure. But he's received comparisons to David West, so that has to bode well for his stock. Teague is another point guard to add to the long search the Hawks have been on to get one. He's quick and raw but has the potential to be solid down the line. Harkless is a wing slasher who could be taken in the late lottery so getting him at this point would be a steal.
