2012 NBA Draft: Danny Ferry Ready To Put His Mark On The Atlanta Hawks

New Hawks general manager Danny Ferry hasn't had long to get his feet wet but he will be calling the shots for Atlanta when the 2012 NBA Draft gets underway Thursday night. The situation may not be completely ideal but Ferry isn't in the dark when it comes to this draft class.

Assistant GM Dave Pendergraft has spearheaded Atlanta's draft preparations and they have been getting Ferry up to speed with what they have saw in workouts from a number of prospects. Ferry will collaborate with his staff on the picks but made it clear that the final decision would be his.

"Ultimately, I will be the one that will have to make that decision if we can't come to a consensus,"

There is no clear cut feeling of who the Hawks might be targeting in the first round. With just six players under contract for next season it is a very real possibility that they are in fact looking for the best player available.
