The first round of the 2012 NBA Draft started as it was expected with Anthony Davis going to No. 1 overall to the New Orleans Hornets. Things got a little unpredictable after that starting with Charlotte's selection of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist with the second pick. Bradley Beal went third to the Wizards before Cleveland grabbed Dion Waiters. Thomas Robinson slid all the way to the Sacramento Kings at No. 5.
