Atlanta Hawks Officially Sign First Round Pick John Jenkins

The Atlanta Hawks have come to terms with their first round pick of the 2012 NBA Draft, guard John Jenkins of Vanderbilt, according to their official web site. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not released.

Jenkins led the Southeastern Conference in scoring the last two years, averaging 19.9 points per game last season for the Commodores. The signing of Jenkins conincides, almost to the hour, of the signing of free agent point guard and Atlanta native Lou Williams, the first moves to rebuild a back court that will be without Joe Johnson in 2011-'12.

Jenkins has already joined Atlanta D-League squad for play in Las Vegas. Joining him are 2011 and 2010 draft picks Mike Scott, Pape Sy and Keith Benson.
