NBA Summer League 2012: Hawks Fall To Spurs 82-76

The Atlanta Hawks received 20 points from Keith Benson and 13 from John Jenkins, but that was not enough as the San Antonio Spurs were able to give the Hawks their first summer league loss 82-76. The Spurs were led by the trio of Kawhi Leonard, Eric Dawson and Cory Joseph who had a combined 53 points.

Both teams got off to a slow start as the Spurs finally were the first to get on the board and that did not happen until the midway point of the first quarter, and the Hawks didn't recorded their first bucket until 4:25 left on a Brad Wanamaker jump shot. The Hawks did however have a 16-11 lead after the first quarter.

The Spurs got hot in the second quarter as they got off to a 10-0 run and made 13-of-17 shots to have six point halftime lead. In the third quarter the Hawks started out to a 10-3 run, and outscored the Spurs to make it a 60-58 game heading into the final quarter.

The teams switched once again with the Spurs starting off hot by going on a 20-10 run to ultimately defeat the Hawks.
