Hawks Offseason 2012: Atlanta Names Wes Wilcox Assistant GM

Danny Ferry's makeover of the Atlanta Hawks continued on Tuesday this time in the front office. The Atlanta Hawks announced the hiring of Wes Wilcox as assistant general manager. Wilcox had been working for the Cleveland Cavaliers where he was Director of Player Personnel.

Wilcox comes to the Hawks from the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he was most recently Director of Player
Personnel, as well as serving as General Manager of the Cavs' NBA Development League team, the Canton Charge.
He joined the Cavaliers in 2003, and held the roles of advance scout, college scout and pro personnel scout.

Wilcox got his start with the Miami Heat in 2001 in their video scouting department. From there he moved on to New Orleans in 2002 where he served as the Hornets' video coordinator. Wilcox replaces Dave Pendergraft who had served as Assistant GM and Director of Player Personnel for the Hawks under Rick Sund.
