2012 Hawks Summer League: Jeremy Hazell Sees Opportunity In Atlanta

The trade of Joe Johnson from Atlanta to Brooklyn caught the attention of former Seton Hall standout Jeremy Hazellwho will be playing for the Hawks at the Vegas Summer League.

After a solid career at Seton Hall Hazell went undrafted Hazell played briefly in Spain and went to training camp with the Phoenix Suns. He was a participant in Atlanta's rookie camp last season right before the lockout shut down the league last summer. According to his agent Seth Cohen, Hazell has upgraded his game since leaving Seton Hall.

"Today Jeremy is an upgraded version of what he was coming out of school. He is shooting the ball better and more consistently, his body is stronger. He is more seasoned and experienced, and is more mature than he was coming out of school. I have witnessed it with my own eyes. I am very proud of his growth both off and on the court and as I have firmly believed since Day 1, there is a place for Jeremy in the league"

Larry Drew places value in shot makers which the drafting of John Jenkins indicates. If Hazell can impress at Vegas while showing a well rounded game then perhaps he will have a chance to stick with the Hawks or at least earn a training camp invite.
