Ondrej Pavelec To Undergo More Examinations

Thrashers goaltender Ondrej Pavelec is to have further tests on his heart, blood, and genetics to determine what exactly happened to make him pass out on Friday. The current diagnosis is a neurocardiogenic syncope episode, or a fainting spell.

The Thrashers have released a statement from the young goaltender:

“I want to thank all the doctors, trainers and emergency personnel who took such good care of me. I would also like to thank my teammates, all the fans and everyone in the hockey community who have reached out to me and offered their support and well-wishes over the last few days. I hope to be back in action as soon as possible.”

The Thrashers have sent goaltender Drew MacIntyre back to the Chicago Wolves and have recalled Chris Carrozzi to practice with the team today. It is expected that Peter Manninio will be recalled from the Wolves to join the Thrashers in Los Angeles for Tuesday night’s game against the Kings.
