According to Ben Wright of the Blueland Blog, Zach Bogosian will be the injured scratch tonight and Freddy Meyer will be in for him. There’s no use pushing an injury this close to the start of the season, and if there’s a competent replacement for him, then that replacement should play.
Meyer will see some powerplay time tonight, which is fitting seeing as how he scored both of his pre-season goals from the blueline, and the Thrashers need powerplay goals. The team has scored just once on a powerplay, with Tobias Enstrom scoring on a 5-on-3 against the Tampa Bay Lightning a week ago.
This means, of course, that Ron Hainsey is on his way back to Anaheim. He will be skating tonight. Updated defensive lines will be posted when they become available.
