Andrew Ladd continued his points streak at six games straight on an assist to Bryan Little for a highlight reel goal at 11:28 of the first period. Little split the defenders to streak in on Rangers goaltender Marty Biron. Biron does not have the most solid record against the Thrashers, and the Thrashers are 12-6-2 against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden all time. It’s a shame that success never translated into a playoff win.
Chris Mason allowed the first goal 38 seconds into the game on a turnover that led to a Ryan Callahan shot. So far, though, the Thrashers have outshot the Rangers 12-10 in the first period. The trend is for the Rangers’ shots to drop off as the game progresses, so here’s to that continuing.
