Atlanta Thrashers At St. Louis Blues: A Shootout Decides It: Atlanta Loses In A Shootout 4-3

Ondrej Pavelec is still having shootout problems, as he allowed goals from TJ Oshie and Brad Boyes back to back in the shootout.

Atlanta started off strong in the first and the powerplay was solid, capitalizing on two out of seven chances. The Blues played sloppy hockey for the first two periods, only tightening it up toward the end of the third period.

The Blues third line of Jay McClement-Matt D’Agostini-Alexander Steen finished a +9 for the game, and the solid puck posession of David Perron and Erik Johnson made it impossible for the Thrashers to get back into the game in overtime. The Blues are now 5-0 this year at home (11 game winning streak) and are riding a four game win streak. When momentum shifted back to St. Louis, it would have needed a miracle for the Thrashers to get it back.

Next Thrashers game is Wednesday night against the Florida Panthers in Sunrise, Florida. Puck Drop is at 7:30.
