↵Minnesota Timberwolves at Atlanta Hawks, 2, SportSouth: Translating this NBA game into college footballese: after playing a couple really tough conference games and one of the best out-of-conference teams, you're going to want to have scheduled what we call a cupcake game. This is going to be a terrible opponent that you get to play at home, ensuring a simple victory.
↵Football
↵Tennessee Titans at Miami Dolphins, 1, CBS: Giving this one GAME OF THE DAY! consideration over the much more obvious Pats-Steelers matchup. First, Randy Moss and Chris Johnson, together at last. Second, don't the Pats and Steelers play once a month anyway? One of these teams is going to make the playoffs -- then again, the same story goes for Pats-Steelers.
↵Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears, 1, Fox: The Falcons have their eyes on the NFC South title, but considerations must be made for the wild card race as well, with the Saints only a game back. Thus we're required to monitor games like this just to make sure the Bears continue to let their record correct itself over time. They're terrible, I'm saying.
↵Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants, 4:15, Fox: Osi Umenyiora and the Giants can keep their one-game tiebreaker edge over the Falcons for home field advantage by going 6-0 in conference against a team playing with a different coach and quarterback than it had last month. Come on! #gobbluth
↵New England Patriots at Pittsburgh Steelers, 8:20, NBC: When the Steelers win, we'll all look back on that day two weeks ago when we all thought the Patriots were head-and-shoulders above the rest of the AFC because they had one more win than everybody else. No we won't.
↵Hockey
↵Atlanta Thrashers at Washington Capitals, 5, SportSouth: It's hard to envision ATL taking a road win over the best team in the Eastern Conference, but it was also hard to invent electricity.
