Atlanta Thrashers At Washington Capitals Score: Caps Come Back To Win It 6-4

The Thrashers fought hard in the second period, but slacked off at the beginning of the third just enough to let the momentum shift to the Capitals. Unfortunately the loss is Pavelec’s, as the game winning goal by John Erskine got by him thanks to a deep screen in front. David Steckel iced the empty netter to close out the game.

Some goals have been changed: the first goal has been changed from Enstrom to Peverley, and the short handed goal was changed from Ladd to Little.

One good period was enough to get the Thrashers up to challenge for the win, but two middling ones, along with some rough goaltending by Chris Mason, cost the Thrashers the game and kept them from getting two points on a night that it could have put them ahead of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the standings. The Thrashers next game is Wednesday night at home when the last place Florida Panthers come to Philips.
