Atlanta Thrashers Forward Alexander Burmistrov Is Looking Forward To Playing His Idol Tonight

In case you missed it a few days ago, Ben Wright of the Thrashers had an interview posted on the official site discussing Alex Burmistrov getting a chance to play his childhood hero in a game. How does the talented Thrashers rookie feel about tonight?

“I’m very excited,” admitted Burmistrov after Sunday night’s game against the Islanders, three days before the Thrashers were scheduled to face the red Wings. “Datsyuk is my favorite player. He’s amazing and I watch him all the time. When we play against him and I’m not on the ice I will just watch how this guy plays. Enjoy it, and learn.”

Datsyuk is one of the league’s premier forwards and if Burmistrov can absorb some of his tricks and strategy tonight, the Thrashers’ll be better for it. Especially if he uses a few to take down the Wings.
