According to Phil Foley of the Examiner, the Thrashers have taken Evander Kane off of the injured reserve, and he is more than likely in for tonight’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers. Kane has had a nagging “mid body” injury since the Thrashers 6-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
In order to make room for Kane, who is third on the team in goals, the Thrashers sent forward Tim Stapleton back down to the Chicago Wolves. Spencer Machacek will be staying up with the team, apparently because he’s a big forward playing against a big team. Stapleton is slightly smaller.
“It was more looking for a big body,” Ramsay said during his media availability period before the game. “The Flyers are a big team and Machacek is a big presence. As a big guy, we could use him on the boards.”
