Southeast Division Standings: Atlanta Thrashers Still In Third Place, But By A Small Margin

The Southeast Division limbo continues for the Thrashers, who might've tasted first place once a few weeks ago, but who have fought to get back to that spot. The Washington Capitals have broken their slump, and are 5-3-2 in their last ten. The Tampa Bay Lightning also have been extremely hot recently, going 8-1-1 in their last ten and are tied with the Capitals with 51 points (the Bolts are in first place by virtue of having one more win in one fewer game played).

The Thrashers have gone 4-4-2 in their last ten games. The team haven't won a game in regulation since their 6-3 drubbing of the Toronto Maple Leafs on December 20th. Tomorrow night against the Panthers is a must win if they want to stay in the heated SE Division playoff picture.
