Set up by Chris Ciovacco, the man behind the Keep The Thrashers In Atlanta campaign (formerly the "Arthur Blank Buy The Thrashers" campaign), fans are being encouraged to get down to the game on Friday early to rally to keep the team where it belongs. Puck drop is at 7:30, and everyone gets down there early for beer from Gorin's, so why not help the team out? Bring signs (appropriate signs, people - do this with decorum) and loud voices. We have other Southern hockey fans driving down from Nashville to help out the cause to boot.
Details of the rally can be found on the event's Facebook page. Please RSVP; 790 the Zone will be covering the event, and I'm sure other news media will be there as well.
Also, join the cause and at the very least like Keep The Thrashers on Facebook. They're also fundraising for PR costs, so if you're interested in helping out, here's the link. I know it's rough to get down there early on a Friday regardless, but this Friday there's more at stake than just missing the puck drop. Will this alone save the team? Of course not, but if enough people get out there, and the AJC along with other local media cover it, it at least sends the message that this is a viable market and the problem is not, as the Atlanta Spirit claims, with the fans.
