Atlanta Thrashers Could Have Up To Three Interested Parties To Keep The Team In Atlanta

Slightly conflicting reports coming out on this topic. I’ve already referenced the John Kincade statement. Craig Custance of The Sporting News (formerly the Thrashers beat writer when he was with the AJC) has the number at three. Custance spoke with Thrashers owner Bruce Levenson today:

“There are three that have gotten to the point where we’re comfortable enough to provide them information,” Levenson said. “We’ve been in the process of providing them the information that they have requested. We are having open dialogue.”

So, basically, they’re at where they’ve been, and the number is at three, up from the two that were suspected. The big difference here is that while the potential buyers were thought to want the Hawks, Thrashers, and Philips Arena, Levenson says that they just want the Thrashers, and want to keep the team in Atlanta.
