I almost forgot the latest game on the schedule for today’s starting night. The Nashville Predators are in Anaheim to take on the Ducks. Nashville’s going to have a heck of a time. Take a look at their stats page, and you’ll see why the Ducks are a force to reckon with. One guy (Corey Perry) had 50 goals, and two others (Bobby Ryan and Teemu Selanne) had more than 30. The Ducks are an example of a well-rounded team that hit its stride at the right time – the second half of the season.
Nashville, however, was consistently good all season long. Their goaltender, Pekka Rinne, would be a Vezina trophy contender if not for the season Tim Thomas has had. Their defense, led by captain Shea Weber, is one of the best of the league. if Anaheim can’t figure out Barry Trotz’s system, they’re going to have a heck of a time. They’ve had problems with that before, dropping the season series 3-1 to the Predators.
My Prediction (which will probably be wrong): Nashville in six.
