NHL Standings, Southeast Division: Last Week Of The Season

For two out of the five teams in the Southeast Division, the season doesn't just officially end on Sunday. The season's been over for quite a while. The Florida Panthers are looking to add another to their stable of up and coming top prospects. They start this week with just 70 points, doing what many thought was impossible - inhabiting the bottom of the Eastern Conference (people thought this was impossible thanks to the Ottawa Senators being horrible). Of course, the Thrashers' playoff hopes ended on Saturday afternoon with a loss to the Boston Bruins.

The Carolina Hurricanes, though, still have a chance to catch up. They're three points out, sure, but they also have three games left to play. If they were to make the final show, this'd be the first time since the Southeast Division had all five current teams that three SE teams would be in the postseason. Which, as we all know, would be terribly insulting to Canadians.
