Atlanta Thrashers Sale Negotiation: NHL, True North Not Commenting On Report

The Atlanta Thrashers are up for sale, with Winnipeg's True North group reportedly in talks to relocate the team to Winnipeg, Manitoba, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris VivlamoreThe Winnipeg Free Press asked True North and the NHL's Bill Daly for comment, getting none from either.

True North has been mum throughout the whole process, though they've been connected to the potential move of two different NHL teams for months now. NHL deputy commissioner Daly most recently refused to guarantee the Thrashers would remain in Atlanta for another season, but insisted the deal had not yet been completed and that Gary Bettman had done all he could to keep the team in town.

Don't expect to hear anything more from any of the three groups involved in the sale, which includes the Atlanta Spirit Group, until the transaction is final.
