Atlanta Thrashers Forward Chris Thorburn Calls Out NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman

Chris Thorburn had an impressive season, being one of the team's best defensive forwards. A memorable game came when he blocked a shot on net with his knee and while in obvious pain continued to play his shift, blocking several more shots before hobbling off.

Apparently that carries over to off of the ice, too, as Thorburn took on the head of the league along with the ownership group in this 11Alive interview from Saturday.

Thorburn had this to say (for the video impaired):

"You'd like to see the guy at the head of the league present. So it's kind of discouraging."

Also, he spoke out on the future of the team on the ice, with positive things to say for the squad:

But Thorburn sees his team as one with promise and one that can bring wins to Atlanta, if given the chance. "We've got a promising future with the guys we have on our squad now and it's just going to get better," he said.
